Beneficence with candidness

Ubqari Magazine - August 2013

A famous Sahabi Hazrat Kaaab Bin Malik had a son name Abu Bakar who later became very wealthy. People asked him about his wealth so he told his story. Once I was roving in the streets of Madina and I found a silk bag, I brought it home, opened it and saw a beautiful pearl necklace and it was very precious, I pledged to return it to its owner.  With this thought I came outside my house and saw an old man searching for the bag so I inquired him and returned his bag. Old man tried to give me 50 dinar that I refused though I was also in need of it. But I was seeking the favor from god almighty. After some time I was traveling in a ship which caught into a storm and turned into a wreck. I reached to the bank of the sea on a wooden plank. It was a village where I saw a mosque so I went in there and offered prayer and started reciting Quran. When the people of the area heard Quran they gathered around me and asked me to stay there to teach Quran to their children. Then I got married to an orphan girl; when I saw my bride she was wearing the same pearl necklace which I hadfound in the streets of Madina. I was amazed so I ask her about the necklace she said that it was owned by her father. The villagers also rectified the girl and said that her father always praised the Muslim who gave this necklace back to him and claimed to marry his daughter to that pious Muslim who did such a great favor to him. So god accepted his wish and I was married to his daughter and so I stayed in that village and received the same necklace when my wife died. So I sold it in millions and started trade with the money. God almighty blessed my business and what I am today is because of the favor and beneficence that I did with righteousness and candidness.
